Carousel Loves…

One of the most exciting things about life at Carousel is the breadth of exciting partners, clients and suppliers that we get to work with. Whether we’re doing the neon for famous artists, dealing with media production companies for their set lighting for the latest Hollywood blockbusters, or producing custom commercial signage for football stadia, hotels, touring musicians and retail outlets, we’ve built quite a black book of contacts. So here’s a list of who we love. In no particular order. With no specific subject matter. Just people and companies that we think a lot of 🙂

Sara Pope

Brighton-based artist has made a name for herself with her stunning bold paintings. All of her pieces that we’ve seen make you stop in your tracks with their vivid colours and extraordinary talent required to produce the piece.

Her work has been shown widely and her profile continues to go supersonic.

We first met Sara when she asked us to add neon to come of her pieces and we feel very honoured that she did so 🙂

Heritage Crafts

Beleve it or not, traditional crafts are not considered as arts or heritage in the UK, and as such they don’t received any funding or support. Heritage Crafts, chaired by Repair Shop’s Jay Blades MBE, is the charity organisation that represents these traditional crafts and the organisation does wonders in terms of its campaigning.

For us personally, the skill of making real glass neon signs as shown in the video above is officially classified as ‘Endangered’ so their work really hits home.

But in a broader sense they’re doing wonders for traditional British skills such as Bagpipe making, Cornish hedging and Marionette making.

Sir Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures

Between all of the team at Carousel, we’ve probably seen all of Sir Matthew’s productions – Nutcracker (several times), Sleeping Beauty (several times!), Swan Lake, The Midnight Bell, The Red Shoes, The Car Man….yep 🙂

His shows are always mesmorising, and with an extremely loyal cast, it’s fascinating to follow the on-stage talent as they move from one role to another and then back to a previous role. Watching Ashley Shaw and Cordelia Braithwaite in Nutcracker was one of the most incredible performances we’ve seen.

murwalls streetart

Murwalls

We first heard of Murwalls when a private client appointed us to produce various decorative lighting pieces for their new home. It so happened that the client had separately commissioned Murwalls to create and produce custom graffiti pieces in their home too.

Murwalls produce some of the highest quality street art, and have the added advantage of holding the brand licence to some of the coolest brands you can imagine.

The icing on the cake is the fact the team are brilliant to deal with.

Great British Entrepreneur Awards

Ok, disclaimer time – we’ve won several Great British Entrepreneur Awards (GBEAs), and both Ben and Rebecca are now judges of the awards. But to be frank, we’ve won other awards too, so what is it about GBEA that makes us put them on our hotlist?

It’s the fact that they’re building a movement. They don’t just organise awards. They’re bringing together a community of entrepreneurs. They’re leading the way in sharing learnings for us all to get better. They’re fighting our corner in the corridors of Downing Street.

We can’t think of many people who are doing more to support British entrepreneurs right now than the team at GBEA. Go check them out.

Hill House

Hill House Interiors

We’ve worked on an extremely broad range of decorative lighting projects over the last decade and are always extremely impressed by the quality of Hill House’s work.

Their portfolio of work speaks for itself, but the attention to detail that they pay to their design and implementation of their projects is very evident, and the team are always extremely personable and friendly to deal with.
