The team behind Syon Lounge @ Hilton West London approached Carousel Lights and asked us to design and supply various items of illuminated decorative signage and lighting. They were keen to build a high profile following on their socials, and as such, the brief had two key elements to it;
Challenge accepted!
The client decided they wanted the phrase ‘Ended up at Syon’ as they wanted that to be the hashtag that was used on socials. We therefore suggested the design and size that it needed – there’s a lot more to that element than meets the eye. The sign needs to be correctly sized so that (i) all of the text is visible when a customer stands in front of it, (ii) no text gets cropped off when a customer takes a portrait-style photo and (iii) the text is legible.
When creating the design as a neon sign, we suggested using our Neon Ultra® product for several reasons. Firstly, the colour and brightness is controllable meaning that it should always look crisp and legible in selfies, whether taken at daytime or at night. Secondly, the product is produced from solid opal acrylic meaning it’s nice and robust for a hospitality environment.
The World is Yours was produced in exactly the same way as Ended up at Syon – solid opal acrylic with internal LED illumination. The text was split across two lines so as to fit within a flower arch. This is absolutely stunning and is regularly featured on socials.
The client wanted lighting strips to be located inside the DJ booth behind the DJ. We designed them such that the size and spacing between the strips changes so as to give an impression of depth and perspective. We supplied these so they can flash, colour-change and dim. We also wired them so that the client can run them through a lighting desk if they so choose – all they would need to do in future is purchase a DMX controller and encoder.
Another of our replica LED neon signs that has gained quote a profile on socials, our Pablo Escobar Neon Ultra® sign is located in the middle of Syon Lounge. It was all pre-mounted onto contour-cut clear 5mm polycarb which meant he install and ongoing maintenance is extremely easy, whilst the polycarb means the mount is virtually unnoticeable in photographs.
