We’ve been a supplier to Selfridges for a long time now, having produced custom lighting and signage for concessions including House of CB, Astrid & Miyu and Cowshed. We’ve also worked with many VM & Display agencies for whom we’ve produced signage that has gone into windows and in-store merchandising displays. But those projects are stories for another day – this case study is about the custom lighting we supplied for Selfridges’ Christmas windows.
There are lots more photographs over on Retail Gazette.
Measuring 2.4m (w) x 1.2m (h), we produced an animated SHOWTIME at Selfridges sign that was located close to Selfridges’ main doors on Oxford Street. We used our Neon SuperFlex product which is ideally suited to this type of project – Red LEDs were inlaid into polished clear 10mm acrylic which was contour-cut to the overall size of the design. 5mm red acrylic was bonded to the clear acrylic to produce the “at Selfridges”. Red vinyl was applied as infill into the SHOWTIME lettering in order to add definition and contrast. This sign was supplied with a remote-controlled flasher unit so that animation and brightness could be easily set on-site by the client.
Produced in the same format as SHOWTIME at Selfridges, but a little simpler as this sign didn’t require vinyl infill, animation or bonded acrylic details. Applause was created from White LEDs, again bonded into 10mm polished acrylic. This sign measured 2.3m (w) x 0.7m (h).
Carouselo Lights supplied several LED halos that were suspended above the heads of Angel mannequins in the Christmas Windows. Each was 320mm diameter, being produced from white LED illumination inset into a clear polished acrylic ring.
