LED Kidswear Merchandising Signage for Harvey Nichols

We’ve worked with Harvey Nichols’ merchandising team over many years, having completed everything from high-profile signage and lighting projects such as their iconic Bah Humbug Christmas window lighting (case study for that here), through to the LED lighting for their stunning 5th Floor restaurant.

They came back to us and asked us to help increase the profile of their Kidswear section with some stylish LED KIDSWEAR lighting. So we did 🙂

KIDSWEAR Signage – Requirement

The VM&Display team at Harvey Nichols specified that they wanted Carousel Lights to supply 3 identical signs. The signs needed to be stylish and able to be suspended. The client already had the typeface that they wanted to be used. The rest was down to us.

KIDSWEAR Signs – Solution

We proposed that each sign was to be 500mm diameter, and that we’d create a circular mount for clear polycarbonate. This material is great for signage as it’s high quality whilst also being more robust than acrylic as it is significantly more forgiving.

Onto each circular mount, we fixed KIDSWEAR lettering which was produced from solid opal acrylic. Into the rear of each letter, Cold White LEDs were located so as to illuminate each letter from within.

Each letter was connected together using low-profile wire, with the cable then extending off the top of the sign so it could follow one of the suspension wires up to the transformer in the ceiling void. 1.5mm wire and adjustable fittings were supplied to the client so that the drop length of the sign could easily be adjusted on-site.
