Festival catering street trucks have exploded in popularity over the past decade, turning food and drink at festivals from a forgettable afterthought into part of the main attraction. Instead of just basic burgers and chips, festival-goers can now grab everything from gourmet tacos and wood-fired pizza to vegan street bowls and artisan desserts.
The same applies to the drinks offering, with beer and cider now supplemented with anything from frozen cocktails to prosecco.
These mobile kitchens bring variety, creativity, and quick service to crowded events, making it easier for thousands of people to eat well without leaving the festival atmosphere. As festivals continue to grow, street food trucks have become a key part of the experience—sometimes drawing crowds just as big as the music or entertainment itself.
In order to have a successful presence, their offering needs to stand out, and at Carousel Lights we’ve noticed how bolder and more vibrant signage is being requested for festival catering suppliers, including food trucks and bikes.
The brilliant team at Dolci Fizz approached Carousel Lights and asked us if we could help their Spritz Bar stand out with some brilliant signage. So we did.
A 50mm box section frame was constructed from aluminium and powdercoated gray. This measured 1800mm x 1300mm overall.
‘The Spritz Bar’ was lasercut from 5mm acrylic with a black drop-shadow effect produced from black vinyl which was all bonded to a 6mm polished clear acrylic panel, which in turn was fixed to the ali baton frame using 50mm standoff fixings.
Original 60mm diameter clear fairground cabochon lights with warm white LEDs were then located on the face of SPRITZ to ensure that the sign looked great in the daytime but then made sure the festival bar signage really stood out at night.
