Carousel Lights was asked to produce the large ‘TASTE’ logo in bulb letter lights for the festival that takes place each summer in Regent’s Park. They’re located right at the entrance and have no-doubt featured in tens of thousands of selfies so feel free to do a quick search on socials to find plenty more photos 🙂
Billed as ‘the ultimate celebration of food and drink in London”, Taste of London first launched in London at Somerset House in 2004, but quickly moved to Regent’s Park in 2005 where it has remained since. Having personally been several times, Taste is a great opportunity to try all sorts of different food and cuisine from many of the most renowned restaurants that everyone has heard of, right through to smaller niche offerings that you hadn’t previously been aware of but which are equally awesome.
Working with some of the brilliant production team who help to bring the event to life, we were asked to supply each bulb letter separately, with each of TASTE being 120mm (h). Our client was making the sponsor plinth themselves, so the letter lights were each to have holes in the base to enable easy on-site fixing to the plinth, as well as simple connectors between each letter so that they could easily be daisy-chained together once assembled on the plinth.
The letters were powdercoated red and original clear fairground cabochon bulbs were located onto the inner face of the trough letters. The bulbs incorporated 60mm diameter E14 fairground spike fittings with compression nuts, 60mm diameter cabochons bases and caps secured onto the fittings.
