Waltzer

The launch of the Waltzer style of light was an exciting milestone for us as we spent many months creating Waltzer as our very first style of illuminated letter. It took us many months as we were so determined to stay true to the origins of this stomach-churning ride. Once we felt we’d perfected it the light went straight into production.

Waltzer Style

The launch of the Waltzer style of light was an exciting milestone for us. It was the ride that all three of us liked the most, and as such, we spent many months creating Waltzer as our very first style of light. It took us months and months as we were so determined to stay true to the origins of this stomach-churning ride. We wanted to match the red on the light to the EXACT same red as Charles Thurston used on the original ride. We got close but that wasn’t good enough – eventually we found the exact colour so straight away the light went into production.

Each piece comes individually wired with a UK plug so letters can be combined to form initials or your choice of words – CL or LOVE perhaps? We are also able to craft custom pieces in the Waltzer style, for example in the shape of your company’s name or logo. For an additional charge we are able to make Waltzer lights fully weatherproof for outside use or install longer lasting, more environmentally friendly LED bulbs.

Waltzer injects any space with a striking vintage look – perfect for creating a stunning talking point in a home, business or at an event.

Heritage & Design

Waltzer’s unique design is inspired by one of history’s most iconic fairground rides of the same name. The ride, which debuted in 1933, was developed by the manufacturer Lakin and the showman Charles Thurston at the height of the Art Deco era, but it maintained several elements associated with more traditional fairground rides.

Waltzer’s form and quality materials are heavily influenced by the era in which the ride was conceived. The beautiful design incorporates a polished stainless steel base and a powder-coated red aluminium surround. The unique raised red trim is an exact match to the rich shade – Mason Ayres Red – used in Thurston’s original design. The use of red and white Turbolites with swirl-effect caps echoes the motion of the ride, whilst the colour of the lights themselves give a nod to the ride’s more traditional roots. Waltzer has been proudly hand made in Britain by specialist craftsman.
